Life-saving upgrades for surgeries, hygiene, and children's health — powered by our partnership with Brace for Impact 46.
At CannedWater4Kids (CW4K), our mission is clear: provide children around the world with access to clean, safe water. We’re excited to share one of our current projects—a meaningful contribution to CHIDA Hospital in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, where clean water is making a real difference in children’s healthcare.
CHIDA (Central Hospitalier IDADEE) is a vital healthcare facility on the IDADEE campus, serving thousands of patients each year, with a strong focus on children. In challenging times for Haiti, this hospital stands as a beacon of hope, offering consultations, emergency care, deliveries, and surgeries to families who often have nowhere else to turn.
Through our trusted partners at Brace for Impact 46—a nonprofit founded by former MLB pitcher Kyle McClellan and his wife Bridget, with strong leadership support from our own board member Jason Roeslein—CW4K has pledged $35,667 specifically for water infrastructure in CHIDA’s new operating suite.
This funding will support:
- A deep well with reliable pumping capacity.
- Solar and grid-powered systems for sustainability.
- Upgrades to water storage, filtration, and treatment (including chlorine and filters).
Clean water is essential not just for drinking, but for safe surgeries—sterilizing equipment, handwashing, wound care, and maintaining hygiene to prevent infections. In a hospital performing C-sections, pediatric surgeries, and emergency care, this infrastructure will directly protect young patients and improve outcomes.
With this new suite, CHIDA expects to significantly increase deliveries and surgeries, benefiting thousands more children annually.
